Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

This policy explains how CleverMart collects and uses personal information when you use the website, browser extension, account features, newsletters or a paid plan.

1. Who is responsible for your information

CleverMart is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@clevermart.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information, including your name, username and email address. Your password is transmitted over HTTPS when you sign in and is not stored by the browser extension.
  • Authentication information, including access and refresh tokens stored locally by the extension so that you remain signed in.
  • Newsletter settings, keywords, selected categories and delivery preferences.
  • eBay listing links or identifiers submitted on the website or detected on supported eBay search, Watchlist and individual listing pages when extension predictions are enabled.
  • Extension preferences, including whether predictions and Delivery mode are enabled and, where configured, the selected delivery country, and the interface language.
  • Account activity, technical logs, security events, device and browser information.
  • Subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, invoices and limited payment metadata. We do not receive your full card number.

Region and language preferences

The website suggests a supported market using your browser’s language and regional settings and time zone. These hints are processed on your device; we do not request GPS coordinates or send the hints to an external geolocation service. The suggestion may not match your physical location. You can change the market in account settings after signing in. Your account market takes priority over browser hints.

We send the selected or detected country code to CleverMart when you register or request a guest newsletter, including when that country does not yet have a supported market. The service currently stores a supported account or subscription market; unsupported countries use the UK market. An existing guest subscription may retain its previously chosen country. We remember your chosen website language in local browser storage until you change it or clear site data. A visitor market preference saved by an earlier version may remain in local browser storage until you clear site data. Account preferences remain subject to the retention rules below.

The extension initially uses a supported browser language. A language you choose in the extension is stored with extension preferences in browser sync storage and may be synced by your browser provider. It controls the extension interface independently of the website language. Region and language preferences are used to provide these features, not for advertising or tracking your movements.

3. Browser extension

The extension runs only on the supported eBay domains listed in its browser permissions. When you are signed in with an active CleverMart Premium subscription and predictions are enabled, the extension extracts eBay listing identifiers visible on the current supported page and sends those identifiers to the CleverMart API to retrieve price predictions and prediction intervals.

Delivery mode examines supported eBay page content in your browser and may request eBay listing pages directly to determine delivery availability. CleverMart does not receive your eBay password, eBay cookies, messages, payment details or unrelated browsing history.

The extension stores authentication tokens and limited account state in local extension storage. It stores feature preferences in browser sync storage when that facility is available; the browser provider may sync those preferences between browsers where you are signed in.

4. How and why we use information

  • To provide accounts, predictions, paid features and customer support under our contract with you.
  • To keep the extension signed in, verify Premium access and return predictions for the eBay listings displayed to you.
  • To secure, troubleshoot and improve CleverMart where we have legitimate interests in operating a reliable service.
  • To send requested newsletters and manage marketing preferences with your consent where consent is required.
  • To process payments, keep financial records and comply with legal obligations.

5. Newsletters

You can enable or disable General and Personal newsletters in account settings. Personal recommendations use the keywords and categories you choose. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option.

6. Payments

Stripe processes payments and provides subscription-management tools. Stripe receives the information required to complete a payment and prevent fraud. Its use of that information is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

Cancellation and refund terms are set out in our Refund Policy.

7. Who we share information with

We may share only the information needed with service providers that support hosting, email delivery, security, analytics and payment processing. Extension preferences may be processed by your browser provider when browser sync is enabled. eBay receives requests made while Delivery mode checks eBay listing pages. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a properly managed business transfer.

We do not sell personal information or use eBay browsing data for advertising, credit decisions or data-broker services.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use recognised safeguards, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

9. Retention

Authentication information stored by the extension is removed when you sign out. Extension preferences remain until you clear extension data or uninstall the extension, subject to your browser provider’s sync behavior. We keep server-side personal information only for as long as necessary to provide your account, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, and to receive certain information in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Contact support@clevermart.co.uk to make a request. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

11. Cookies, extension storage and security

See our Cookies page for website browser-storage information. The extension uses the browser’s extension storage APIs rather than website cookies. Data sent between the extension and CleverMart uses HTTPS. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

13. Children and policy changes

CleverMart paid services are not intended for children. We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change and will publish the revised date on this page.
